October 18, 2012 – Jen Fortier | From Stools and Bouquets to Thrones and Crowns

When Justin performed in Winnipeg, Canada a few years ago, Jen went with her friends and watched another girl go on stage as the OLLG. She remembers saying that the OLLG was the luckiest girl in the world and would give anything to be her; it had been her dream ever since. At the Believe Tour concert last October, Jen was dancing and singing to Somebody To Love when her namesake, Jenn (Laski) called her over. She was super confused and scared because she thought she was getting in trouble. But then they were downstairs where she could hear the concert so loudly when Jenn turned to her and asked her if she wanted to be the One Less Lonely Girl! She couldn’t process the question at first and her heart was pounding. To this day it still feels like a dream but once she realized what was happening, all she could do was cry and freak out. Backstage, her first thought was that she was going to pass out! It felt so unreal to her, like a movie. Once she was on stage, she was a little better because the stage lights were so bright that all she could see was Justin. Jen thought Justin was so perfect and his whole body was really warm. What she remembers most from being on stage was how brown his eyes are.

When she got back to her seat, her knees were still shaking and everyone in her section started clapping, making her cry again. All Jen could do was hug her friends and cry; she couldn’t even believe what happened. She thinks the fact that she wore uggs made her stand out, maybe in a bad way, because of how much Justin has said before that he hates uggs (he likes them now!) However, she went to the concert from work and had no idea she would end up on stage. A lot of people hated her for it but Jen just ignored everything because she was way too happy to care about hate even slightly. Her advice for anyone who wishes to be OLLG would be to enjoy the concert and not think about being the OLLG. When Jen got picked, she was just dancing and screaming the lyrics – not worried about being picked, she was just enjoying the concert. Jenn told her that she watched Jen and her friends dance for 3 songs. If you don’t get picked, don’t give up on your dream!
